Honeymoon Phase

And still, I absolutely love my job - easy to see as I don't have the time to post or anything, just about enough time to fire off an email here and there.

Still planning on getting my own pad next year somewhere in East London, still too much booze and drugs, nothing's changed really.

Have a good one everyone! D

Happy Birthday!!!

There are not a lot of people out there I consider as very close friends - today, it's one of them's birthday and it's a shame I couldn't make it there! Happy birthday, V, all the best - love goes out to you.

It's even more pants because another one of my friends is moving away quite far - a couple of hours drive from Munich. They had his and his girlfriend's leaving party tonight.

Those two occasions are the only ones I can think of as reasons not to live in London - but only those two!

Friday Treats

Just in case I haven't told everyone yet (I can't get over it) - once a month, usually Fridays, there's a masseuse coming to our company giving us a free 10mins treat at our desks. How wicked is this!?

Sorry for repeating myself into coma but... I've hit the jackpot, indeed!

Beggars can't be choosers

Right, so I had a few problems with my Nokia 6680 (I think it is - the one with the two cams, wicked thing!), it wouldn't let me take any pics or vids and i had to format my SD card. Great - all the downloaded ringtones gone.

On my way to Walton this week I thought I'd just download them again, and realised those cheeky bastards charge £3.50 a ringtone! Silly me paying for that in the first place, but...

So I got myself an mp3-cutter (help yourself) and whooey - it works! And it's easy as - guys, don't you ever pay anything for a bloody ringtone!

But (here's the "but") one of the tunes I want for my phone was an m4p which iTunes wouldn't allow me to convert into mp3, so yet another tool I had to download (works also for AAC and other formats). Hours later... I got my two new tunes on my phones! Yeah!!

No complaints so far

Well, today was the first day of the second training session with another five countries and we had a great time - not only very clever people fully motivated to get the project done and dusted, but also peeps that are fun to be around. We had a good time tonight, again having dinner and a few drinks (beer this time, great), getting to know each other.

Still, I think I've hit the jackpot with my new company. Lucky girl (or, as a friend said - lucky bitch. ack).

There's just something bit worrying - one of the guys working for my client. We'll be working very closely, as in weekly meetings and probably daily phone calls or emails. Worrying because he's really funny and cool. Anyway. Should consider myself lucky and not think about it - but just in case, want to have it mentioned... wouldn't work out anyway, he's supporting Brum City.

Right, it's past 10pm and I have to get up early-ish tomorrow again, pub lunch meeting with the producers. Still can't get over the fact I'm working with this company now - it's great. Right, off to bed. My apologies to everyone, especially my sister, Thomas, Silvia, Petra, Mario - I know I owe you big time and at least an e-mail, will try tomorrow, it's been so busy! But haven't forgotten you, just so you know!

Night everyone...

National Lottery

It's so much better than the million off the National Lottery - my new job is awesome! I'll probably work my tits off but it will be soooo worth it, the people, the projects, the industry, the customers... right, better stop here. But it's one thing on my big fat (private) list I can now tick, it's a big step on the career ladder and it'll be so good.. YAY!

And for the rest of the list - good things come to those who wait, and for everything a reason. Cuppa anyone?

Brain Food

Had my first day at the new company today - yay! Everyone drop dead friendy and funny, even some good looking blokes there, they all seem to be very cool and I can't wait for the next company meeting (and the drinks at the pub after that, that is). Well tired now, off to telly - will be on training for the next two days so not much going on here - sorry guys!

The Weekend has Landed

Had me mates over for the weekend - starting on Thursday with my leaving do getting seriously twatted, going to Plan B in Brixton Friday (and getting seriously mashed) followed by a pub night on Saturday. Happy days!

T -2

Right, two days left in my "old" office, bored off my tits, major celebrations today on Trafalgar Square (remember the Ashes, we finally made it!), the sun is shining - what the fuck am I doing here!?

Future Fuck-Up

So, two of my mates are getting married this week, which is bad enough (*scnr*), but - he's in love with her, and she needs a visa to stay in the country. Well. I see a major problem coming up (how about a couple of kids before you break up, eh?), and this is not really what I'd expect from being married, but hey, I'm probably just old fashioned.

Weekend Wrap-up

So I came back on Saturday early morning and we caned the last bit we had around 7am, made it to bed eventually, still buzzing - when my mate (I just spent a week in Uzes with) called me around midday... she has the gift of waking me up every time she yells, but anyway. Whether I wanted to come with her on a trip through India next year. Hell, yeah!

The rest of Saturday and Sunday in literally spent in bed slobbing around doing nothing (but the odd spliff), trying to recover from Friday night. Talking about Friday night - urgs... as the dealer M got in for the night didn't show up I organised mine to pop around, blimey, all the way from South London to the East End - nice one! So having a bag of pre-ordered wraps in my back burner I was the (wo)man of the night. Managed to lose half a G and got ridiculously pissed on Gin & Tonic - yay!

Sounds...

Internet as usual - stumbled across the guys who won the Mercury prize the other day, remembered I heard one of the songs in the radio on the way back from my holidays... so, having iTunes I'm always only 2 clicks away from having everything on my poddie.

Two clicks later I'm in a cotton bubble and haven't come out yet, slightly shifted sense of reality now. Marvellous!

Breaking News!

The latest news on Hurrican Katrina - thanks to BBC!

The Bug!

Right, Test 5 at the Oval, I'm glued to my screen (at work) with BBC radio and live scorecard, England still batting - the sun is shining outside and I'm wishing myself to this gorgeous penthouse flat with the terrace overlooking the pitch. It's gone for £17,000 for a week. Rent. My ass... Oh, and a shandy or 12, of course.

Alternately I might spend half of the weekend in Regent's Park - Big Screens, a rug, a few drinks and a spliff. Bliss!

TGIF-day

And the trap snapped - again. Went to the HorniMan (a pub! seriously!) last night for a quiet drink (as in one, as in 1) and stumbled off with the last round after 11pm. Whooops. Waiting for the Alka-Seltzer to kick-in, which is a bit of a rat race as I have to be in a meeting in... 7 minutes. Urgh.

No You Don't!

So, the latest virus warning (well, trojan horse actually) tries to make you better, how nice...

Based on the cited text strings, it appears that this Trojan aims to disrupt browsing activities related to adult or mature materials. This interference may cause annoyance to some users.

YAY! I see millions of blokes suffering... and system fuck-ups all over Britain due to too many reboots :-)

Where You Goin'?

So, when I came back from my hols on Sunday I had a fair bit of catching up to do... New Orleans? Floods? Huh?

Anyway, so they've decided to evacuate New Orleans (erm. how many people living there?), if necessary in handcuffs. Right. I wonder where they're sending them?

Dead End

Argh, this is going bloody nowhere with my kick ass crush on The Brum, this girl needs a drink, NOW!

Pet Hates

OK, advice needed. I consider myself being rather normal, but then again... So here my pet hates (other people usually don't understand), in no particular order:

- Don't you EVER use my bath towel. I might dry my face with the part someone else rubbed... YUK!

- Some people seem to be filthy altough they maybe aren't. So I'm just not into them, and if they drink out of a bottle it's disgusting. Use a glass, for crying out lout.

- I don't see how people can lie on their beds wearing "street gear". Yuk. I wouldn't ever do that with my clothes (unless just washed and not worn outside yet).

- Same with lying on the sofa with shoes. How rude!

- People not washing their hands after using the toilet. No, it doesn't matter whether it was a "No. 1" or "2"! And people not washing their hands before they start cooking.

- People with dirt under their fingernails. Oh, even worse, people with dirt under toenails.

So, all that stuff makes me run away screaming, only naturally IMHO. Innit?

Back to Normal

Ouch, my brain has a heart beat... Bit of a bender last night, but from the beginning...

In the afternoon (I'm in the middle of doing someone else's expenses, fk that) my flatmate yells: Stu Dangerous, his Brum University best drinking mate, now living in Istanbul (huh? wot? why Istanbul???) is on business trip in London ("Lunden"). A few drinks and dinner on his expenses?

Cool thing I thought, off I trot to Covent Garden, we're sitting in the pub with the first pint of the day when I spot this very cute guy.... whoops. Before I could finish thinking about an appropriate seducing technique I realise it's Stu (married, kid, bollox).

Anyway, what a laugh! I managed to escape ("you can't go home now, when the boys are taking you out" <- worked for escape attempt no. 1 and no. 2), slightly pissed (ok that's a lie now), took the car home (thank God nobody was in my way) and fell over (into bed).

Well... Haven't heard of the lads yet, as they went on for another few (yeah, right) drinks after the last orders... I think I just check the Sun today, I'm sure they had a very good time and someone noticed...

Divination

Right, there was this documentary on last night, about the guy who predicted 9/11. Anyway, it's a while ago now, but seeing the pictures again... And then I saw it for the first time. People jumping out of the tower. From the 90th floor.

How fucking sick is this, I mean, hello? Anyone out there who thinks this isn't really something to show on TV? It's not a fucking puppet, for fuck's sake! Its got arms, legs and a tie, fucking hell, I was waiting for the bloody close-up of the horrified faces but at least they didn't show that.

I'm shaken. Assholes. Something I won't forget (and I thought I'd get over it).

Countdowns

... 9 days left at my old workplace
... 3 months left on the lease

Loads of changes, big time - not sure where it's going to take me, well busy at work and my private life is going down the drain a bit, bollox. Will ask the cards and the shaman's bones and probably not listen (as always. who listens to advices anyway?) but be sorry afterwards.

Can't be a.r.s.e.d. working. Right. Coffee and fag.

Home Sweet Home

There we go again - back in the Big Smoke, literally, spent the afternoon stuck on the M1... A40... A23... A what the fuck... note to myself: don't try to save money on trains.

Bloody nice hols I had, my arse, spent 8 days baking next to the pool, got a nice tan (another note to myself: some parts of my body can do with SF12. ouch, the 2-day-flu wasn't that bad... Yeah, cool.

But I'm glad to be back again, good old England (whoo hope my folks back home im Switzerland don't read this). But hey, will definitely go back again next summer, is it some sort of a tradition if I go there more than 3 times in a row? Anyway, the pic over there is the "Place aux Herbes", the main square in Uzes and bloody nice. A place to spent hours watching people....

Every Saturday they have this huge market, food, clothes, allsorts... Found a candle there and tried to find a perfume/bath/thingy smelling exactly the same, but - no luck. So I paid bleedin' fortune for... a candle... urgh! But - as I'll be back next year, I might as well keep a chunk of the candle (it's a gift, doesn't justify the price tho) and pop over to Grasse - the perfume capital of the world. They will be able to make my own perfume just by smelling my "chunk". Wicked! And a good excuse :-)

Right, I'm off, well tired

Great. I'm ill.

fuck that - fever, cough, running nose; feel horrible!

I WANT MY MUM! (or anyone else capable and willing making me a half decent tea and a soup)
